Author Biography

Jamie McDaniel, Radford University

Jamie L. McDaniel (PhD) is an Associate Professor of English at Radford University (VA), and the editor of The CEA Forum, an online, peer-reviewed journal devoted to pedagogy in English studies. Publishing in journals such as Gender and History, The Midwest Quarterly, and Culture, Medicine, and Psychiatry, he is the author of articles on disability and adaptation studies, ableism in horror films, and legal, economic, and political theories of property in contemporary British women’s writing. His current work combines seeks to create an adaptation-informed disability studies that moves past multidisciplinary analyses, which treat source texts and adapted texts as separate entities and adaptation as a neutral process, to suggest that scholars generate truly interdisciplinary approaches to addressing disability in adaptation.
